DC Venue Spotlight: Fostr Collaborative in Georgetown
Today we’re sharing with you a non-traditional Washington DC venue that we think deserves a micro wedding spotlight! Fostr Collaborative is located in the heart of Georgetown right off historic M Street and a few steps away from the waterfront. Its central location makes it a perfect venue for gorgeous wedding portraits as well as a hop skip and a jump from some beautiful hotels to get ready in!
ABOUT THis dc micro wedding VENUE
Fostr Collaborative is a light filled, industrial space with gorgeous lofted-style windows. The venue is drenched in white with drapery on one side of the room and a large white wall on the other. It’s a blank canvas which means it’s the perfect backdrop for any color palette whether you’re going with something classic like black, ivory and emerald or something fun and colorful like the photos below!
The venue holds 30-35ish seated and 50ish standing, depending on how you use the space.
HOW TO UTILIZE THE SPACE
You can plan to have your ceremony elsewhere - like the DC War Memorial - and then arrive to Fostr for a seated meal with a buffet.
You can plan to have both your ceremony and reception at the venue with half of the room setup for a ceremony and the other half for a seated meal with a buffet. Depending on guest count, the ceremony setup may need to be broken down during cocktail hour.
what’s included
The venue comes with 6 tables and 30 chairs (22 black and 8 green) as well as one round table and banquet. Rentals such as linens and tableware will need to be brought in by a separate vendor or your caterer but there are lots of affordable options for this!
The rental is $250/hour with a 4 hour minimum. (This is perfect for the base package plus time for setup, breakdown, and some extra time for portraits!)
WHY WE LOVE IT
Unlike most venues, there is no one caterer that you must use so you can bring in whatever kind of food you’d like, as long as it’s “drop off” catering! (There isn’t a kitchen on site.) We recommend using the drop off catering options offered by Gate Plated, Monumental Food, B. Lin or your favorite restaurant. This is a huge money saver because instead of having to hit high food + bev minimums through a traditional catering company, you can simply choose your favorite restaurant or style of food and call it a day!
