Wedding Favor Ideas from Local DC and Baltimore Small Businesses
A lot of couples who choose to celebrate their marriage with a micro wedding care deeply about supporting their local economy and the small businesses that make up their community!
One way to incorporate this effort into your micro wedding is to shop locally for your wedding favors or welcome bags! Washington DC and Baltimore are filled with incredible creatives, makers, and small business owners, making it easy to build your favors or welcome bags with tons of hyper-local, personalized gifts.
Some of Our Favorite Baltimore Small Businesses for a Micro Wedding Favor or Welcome Bag
PeCandy
We first tried PECANDY while staying at Hotel Revival for a scouting trip in Baltimore. Our contact at the hotel was kind enough to leave us with a bag of goodies, including a jar of nuts from Pe Candy. Holy. Moly. These were, without a doubt, the best nuts we’d ever had. Our founder, Lauren, could not stop eating them and immediately started following them on Instagram so she could get her hands on more.
Their signature candied pecans are made with the finest ingredients: crisp, select pecans, light egg whites, pure cane sugar, a touch of salt, and natural extracts, creating vibrant flavors. Their collection features seven distinctive flavors, from the sophisticated Vanilla Bourbon (our personal favorite!) to the bright Lemon Pound Cake.
We asked Alisha, their founder, what her favorite thing about being a Baltimore maker is, and she said,
“It’s a vibrant and diverse community. The city is a melting pot of cultures, each contributing to its unique character. We love the local markets, the friendly people, and the strong sense of pride that permeates the city. Baltimore's resilience and spirit are truly inspiring.”
WIGHT TEA CO
Another small business introduced to us by our friends at Hotel Revival is Wight Tea Co. Brittany and Joseph, who never had much in common until they found tea and built their friendship around it, founded Wight Tea Company, drawing on their expert palates and mixology experience to create unique handcrafted blends.
Our favorites include the Fireside Fig and the Pumpkin Coconut. They also sell small tins of Matcha which would be the perfect addition to a welcome bag for the potential next morning hangover.
MEET HAUS
If sustainability is important to you (micro weddings are much better for the environment than big ones!) then you’ll definitely want to include Meet Haus in your welcome bag or as a wedding favor for your guests! Meet Haus was born from a love of home, mindfulness, and the transformative power of scent. They create candles, room + linen sprays as well as thoughtfully curated gift sets. They aim to create products that inspire relaxation and joy while remaining true to their values of sustainability and craftsmanship.
They also offer a custom candle experience if you wanted to create a personalized scent for your wedding day! You’d meet with them to discuss the vision for your fragrance and even the design and packaging! They hand-pour your custom candles and then ship them directly to your doorstep!

PRATT STANDARD
This woman-owned company (just like us!) was founded out of a desire for more: more flavor, more pronounceable ingredients, and more joy. They create tasty cocktail ingredients and syrups meant to be shared with your nearest and dearest - perfect for a micro wedding welcome bag! We love these because they’re alcohol free- so your guests can use these at home whether or not they choose to imbibe.
MARIGOLD + GREY
If you’re looking for something a little more luxe or a way to thank your loved ones for being a part of your wedding day, we love recommending Marigold + Grey to our couples! They work with each of their couples to create a custom gift design concept including not only what’s inside of the box but how the box looks, as well! Think: custom monogram matched with your wedding day colors!
APPOINTED
Lots of people don’t know this because of how much this small business has grown but Appointed was started in Washington DC and all of their products are designed and packaged out of their Ivy City office! If you’re looking for something simple, beautiful and useful to gift your guests or if you’re looking for a way to stay organized during wedding planning, we love their monthly planner and their to-do pad. (It’s what our found, Lauren, uses too!)
