J+T | Washington DC Micro Wedding at Constitution Gardens on the National Mall

Last month we had the honor and privilege to photograph Jordan and Tommy’s virtual zoom wedding on The National Mall. This super stylish Washington DC couple was supposed to be on Amelia Island that day, exchanging their vows in front of their family and friends but, like so many couples, unfortunately covid-19 had other plans. But these two beautiful people did not let the pandemic get in the way of their love for one another. They applied for their marriage license on-line (thanks DC!) and self-officiated their wedding ceremony on The Constitution Gardens while their two closest friends streamed the occasion for their loved ones and their adorable Frenchie puppy, Chunk, cheered them on. They brought music so that they could share their first dance as husband and wife and popped a bottle of veuve-clicquot to celebrate! They sealed the deal by signing their marriage certificate, shared virtual hugs and kisses with their loves ones and ate their favorite dessert.

A big shoutout to all of our wonderful vendors that helped put this on! I’m so grateful that the Washington DC service and wedding industry is filled with such wonderful people that know how to come together to truly make their couples’ feel special. This pandemic has been so difficult on all of us but it’s moments like these that really make us proud of the work we do. I how hard it is to have all of your wedding plans taken right out from under you but I promise that no matter how you end up celebrating this monumental day in your life, it will be special and we will be there to preserve those memories for you! The future is uncertain but your love is not!
