This past December Tiny Wedding Co planned a winter micro wedding for the most beautiful and kind-hearted couple. They began their day at The Hay Adams with a slow morning, getting ready with their families followed by a chilly but romantic First Look at the beautiful entryway of the hotel. They strolled around the neighborhood, stopping at The Decatur House, for some wintry portraits, taking breaks to snuggle and stay warm. (The bride had two fun pieces to help her stay warm - a long off white coat with feathered cuffs for portraits and a white fur shawl for their outdoor ceremony. Perfect for a winter micro wedding in Washington DC!)

The couple wanted their micro wedding to have a holiday-esque feel without it screaming “Christmas.” The bride wanted the ceremony and dinner space to feel elegant, warm and glowy so for colors, we used shades of white, burgundy and evergreen with pops of matte black and gold. The couple wanted their florals to be just wild enough without it looking messy - for the window still installation, we chose a mix of textures, structured blooms and wild greenery to make you feel like you were walking past a lush garden right in the middle of the venue. The dinner table was filled with candles and velvet textures for the runner and napkins as well as gold rimmed chargers, gold pronged flatware with marble handles and custom menus with a gold wax seal.

The couple invited only their parents and siblings to witness their intimate ceremony on the roof deck of The Penthouse, one of Extra Fancy’s small DC wedding venues. They exchanged vows and rings between a broken floral arch, expertly designed and installed by one of our in-house florists. Their guests sat in a semi circle surrounding them with support and love.

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests made their way inside where they were greeted with champagne to warm hem up and delicious bites by Extra Fancy’s Michelin-star award winning chefs. The dinner began with a toast from the father of the bride, a first dance by the couple and parent dances with the couple’s mom and dad. All five of the dinner courses were paired with unique glasses of wine and the meal ended with a super sweet cake cutting, wonderful conversation and lots of love.
