Two Days, One Love Story: A Mountain Top Ceremony & Waterfront Micro Wedding in the DMV

Part One: A micro wedding ceremony on a mountain at Bear's Den in Bluemont Virginia
Thursday evening in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a small circle of the people who matter most and a fog so thick it felt like the whole world had gone quiet just for them.
B+C’s ceremony day began at the foot of the lookout at Bear's Den - a grassy, open stretch and a live violinist setting the most achingly beautiful tone. This was where they shared their first look. Before a single guest arrived, before any ceremony began, it was just the two of them exchanging private personal vows and sharing their first dance together.
From there, their families joined them and made their way up to the lookout for the ceremony. The fog had rolled in thick, with patches of rain drifting in and out. This may have rattled some couples but for B+C it was perfect. Dramatic and moody in the best possible way; the kind of weather that makes photographs look like paintings.
With only their parents and siblings present, the intimacy of the moment was palpable. This wasn't a performance. It was real, raw, and deeply personal.
Afterwards, the mood shifted into something a little more playful - family portraits, couple portraits and lots of laughter. The bouquet and boutonniere were the only florals of the day, and they were all that was needed. Sometimes less really is more.
The evening ended with a private dinner at Tremolo Wine Bar in Middleburg and some late night laughs at the couple’s Airbnb nearby.
PART TWO: The Micro Wedding Party at Wylder Inn on Tilghman Island in Maryland
If Thursday was intimate and emotional, Saturday was pure celebration.
Wylder Inn sits right on the Chesapeake Bay on Tilghman Island, and on this particular Saturday, it was showing off. Eighty degrees, sunny skies and a gentle breeze - an absolute dream of a day, and quite the contrast to the foggy mountain top just 48 hours earlier.
Guests arrived to an outdoor cocktail hour on the waterfront - fresh seafood, fun passed appetizers, an open bar, and that kind of golden afternoon light that makes everyone look their best. With 40 guests gathered to celebrate, the energy was warm, festive, and full of joy. There was no second ceremony, no formal program - just good food, good drinks, and the unmistakable feeling of joy only a wedding celebration can bring!
As the sun began to dip, everyone moved inside for a seated dinner. The bride's dad took the mic for a toast that had the room laughing and crying in equal measure. After dinner, the DJ took over and every single guest was on the dance floor until the very last song. It was epic!
WHAT WE LOVED ABOUT THIS COUPLE
What we loved most about this wedding was how intentional every single decision was. The mountain top was for the people who've been there from the beginning. The island party was for everyone who's been cheering them on. Both days were completely themselves - unrushed, unbothered, and full of love.
