Is It Okay to Have a Tiny Wedding?
Micro weddings or tiny weddings have become a larger part of the wedding world in the last few years. Since 2020, small weddings went from being the only type of wedding you COULD have to now have the true staying power for those uninterested in a typical large wedding.
For some of our couples, the question always comes up "Is it okay to have a tiny wedding?" Obviously, we are in the tiny wedding business but putting that aside, we say YES!
There are so many benefits to tiny micro weddings for couples, especially in the Baltimore, DC, and DMV areas.
Here are just a few reasons why having a small and intimate wedding is not only okay but an amazing option:
Micro weddings let you focus on WHO you want to be present at your wedding
Larger weddings equal larger guest lists which sometimes can feel so far removed from what the couple wants. If you invite Uncle Bob, you need to invite Aunt Carol, and if you invite Aunt Carol you then need to invite her second cousin...and so on.
We've talked with couples who truly want their wedding to be with only those closest to them which is why they opt for a micro wedding (or elopement if they want even smaller attendance).
Some feel guilty but it is a day you want to celebrate with those who mean the most to you and we get it!
Smaller, intimate weddings are an affordable option compared to larger ones
Micro weddings can save you a lot of money. Going back to the previous topic of guest lists, you have a maximum number of people you can invite which is much smaller than a larger wedding guest list. This then means there is less in terms of everything from space needed, centerpieces, floral arrangements, and so on.
When we work with our couples, we know they want something intimate and special while also not breaking the bank. That's why we created our packages for The Tiny Wedding Shop focused on this concept which ensures that the most important pieces of your tiny wedding are taken care of and at a cost that makes sense to you.
Tiny weddings are great for our non-traditional couples
We love the fact that while we provide the coordination, photography, officiant, florals, and cake (all local vendors, of course!) we also get to see our couples make the day their own.
With a smaller wedding, you have more ways to make it your own from what dress you wear to the color of your tux, the type of food, and the decor. You also are not dealing with so many moving parts so that you can focus on the important pieces of your day and make them your own without being overwhelmed.
The important thing we want our Baltimore and Washington DC micro wedding couples to know is that having a tiny wedding is completely fine and ultimately if having a smaller and more intimate wedding and done-for-you wedding day coordination feels amazing, then go for it!
