DC Venue Spotlight: Fathom Gallery 14th Street
Meet Fathom Gallery
We get it. Planning a micro wedding in a busy city like DC can feel like a lot sometimes. With so many venues, locations, and choices to think about, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed trying to find a space that feels personal, unique, and actually fits the vibe you are picturing.
If you are newly engaged and looking for a venue with that “wow” factor, Fathom Gallery 14th Street might just check all your boxes. It sits along one of DC’s most historic streets and it gives you all the good vibes. Fathom has a mix of exposed brick, clean wood, and art gallery vibes, along with a rooftop that feels like your own private garden oasis in the middle of the city.
This space offers a lot of flexibility, so if your guest list is 10 or 50, you’ll feel at home here. It is a stylish spot that is yours to shape however you like. And did we mention the rooftop? Because you will want to hear about the rooftop.
How to Use the Space
Our favorite things about Fathom Gallery is how well the spaces work together and that you get to design your day. It doesn’t lock you into an already set and rigid plan, you choose what makes sense for you. Here’s how we’ve seen couples use the space:
Ceremony on the Roof: You could start off with a rooftop ceremony under the market lights and lush greenery, creating a romantic city garden vibe that’s picture perfect for exchanging vow.
Reception in the Gallery: After the ceremony, guests can move directly into the gallery space for dinner and/or dancing; the gallery and the rooftop are on the same level which makes it easy to make the transition. This space seats 65 for a sit-down dinner or 80 for a ceremony. Are you planning something more casual or cocktail style? The gallery fits 125 standing guests comfortably and still leaves room for a dance floor or food stations. It is completely up to you on how to utilize the space.
The Penthouse for flexibility: The penthouse is a spacious, open room that many couples use as a getting ready suite. But it could alos be space for extra lounge seating, a photo booth setup, or even extra dinner tables.
No matter how you choose to arrange it, Fathom’s layout makes it easy for guests to flow from one space to the next without that awkward “now where do we go?” moment.
What’s Included
With every rental, Fathom includes all three levels: the rooftop, gallery, and penthouse. You will also have access to some stylish furniture (30 ghost chairs, 4 rectangular tables, and a lounge set), a built in sound system, and even the option to have custom photo framing done to personalize the space (which is such a cool touch for a gallery venue). All that attention to detail goes a long way.
More than just a wedding
Fathom Gallery is not just for ceremonies and receptions. We have seen beautiful engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, and even showers hosted here too. The team here works with a curated list of caterers who know the space inside and out, which makes planning feel that much more smoother.
Whether you are looking for an intimate rooftop moment, a gallery-style dinner, or a party on all three levels, this venue makes it easy to bring your wedding vision to life. Planning a micro wedding doesn’t have to be stressful. With a venue like Fathom Gallery, you get a thoughtfully designed space and the freedom to make your wedding day truly yours.
